  • What is a rule?  Who decides where rules come from?

What is the role of story in conveying rules?

How is a rule handed down by story different than a rule handed down by decree?
  • There is a lot of Lost and Found in this book, lots of games in which vision is obscured and people lose their way in some sense.  Watch for that sort of imagery and metaphor, and observe who the guides are, and what their advice is.

The fourth or fifth Tarot card is "The Emperor" (depending on what number you begin counting).
It is a male card expressing power, fatherhood, discipline, tradition - sometimes to point of stagnation and inflexibility. But it carries solid stability.

Do any of these stories deal with this card and these ideas?
